Admission & Application

Admission Requirements

All holders of biosciences-related Bachelor’s degrees (e.g., biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, chemistry, molecular biology, genetics, medical schools, and engineering undergraduate departments) are eligible to apply. Good knowledge of English is a prerequisite for applying. For applicants whose mother tongue is not English, at least a B2 level degree and a good command of the language during the interview are required.

Evaluation of Applicants

Evaluation of applicants is based on the following criteria:

  • Overall Bachelor’s degree grade
  • Grades in undergraduate courses relevant to biosciences
  • Undergraduate thesis
  • Relevant publications, announcements at conferences
  • Other relevant graduate degrees
  • Relevant research activity
  • Recommendation letters
  • Good knowledge of English
  • Interview: The interview is an essential part of the selection procedure, the purpose of which is to assess whether the candidate can critically use basic biological information to address specific research-related problems. The interview is oral and in English. Interviews include questions on biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, microbiology, and genetics, as well as questions on subjects of wider scientific interest that aim to:
    • determine whether the supporting documents reflect the general training of the applicant,
    • ascertain any special needs of the candidate (depending on the previous studies), if he/she will be accepted.
