Student Experience

A Great Student Experience

We offer one of the best campus experiences in the world in a location renowned for its rich history, cultural heritage, and breathtaking landscapes. It is the birthplace of democracy, philosophy, and Western civilization, with iconic ancient sites such as the Acropolis and the Parthenon standing as testaments to its historical significance. Greece is also famous for its stunning islands, offering picturesque beaches, charming, white-washed villages, and vibrant nightlife. The country’s delicious cuisine is celebrated worldwide. Greek hospitality, warm Mediterranean climate, and a love for traditional music and dance further contribute to Greece’s enduring appeal as a top destination.

Student Life & the Extended Community

Our International Program is based in Larisa, one of the largest Greek cities, with a population of about 145.000 inhabitants. Its name is pre-Hellenic of Pelasgian origin and means a fortified hill or citadel. It is an important shopping center, communications and transportation hub, and is famous for its agricultural production, as it is in the Thessalian plain. The emblem of Larissa is the Horse of the Thessalian plain, which traditionally supported all agricultural work. The famous Alcazar Park is an important green lung for the city and its inhabitants. Viopolis and Gaiopolis are the two university campuses of Larissa with more than 12 thousand students.

The activities are not limited to lecture halls and laboratories; this is taken care of by the Physical Education Office of the University of Thessaly, which is located in the nearby Gaiopolis Campus (check the gallery below).
